THE INSIDERS ROOM'S 10* NATIONAL LEAGUE TOTAL OF THE WEEK (+500 PREMIUMS L30 DAYS!)
(MLB) Washington vs. Philadelphia,
Total: 10.50 | -120.00 Under
Result: Loss
Total: 10.50 | -120.00 Under
Result: Loss
This is a 10* TOTAL OF THE WEEK on the UNDER Nats/Phillies.
Both teams come in off high-scoring losses. The Phillies fell 12-10 at home to Atlanta, while the Nationals fell 9-5 in Boston.
Neither of these starters instills a ton of confidence, but I still believe that the opener of this series definitely sets up as more of a defensive "duel."
Erick Fedde (1-2, 3.57 ERA) is out for revenge here after falling to these very Phillies last time out, allowing four runs over five innings.
Spencer Howard (0-1, 6.17) had his last start skipped over, but previous to that he was sharp by allowing one run and striking out five over 3.2 innings in the opener of a double-header vs. the Jays.
As I said, neither pitcher instills a lot of confidence, but note that Washignton has seen the total go under the number in seven of its last ten road games after allowing eight or more runs in a loss in its previous outing, while the Phillies have seen the total dip below in eight of their last 12 after allowing 11 or more runs in a loss in their previous outing.
Look for this one sneak UNDER once it's all said and done!
Good luck, NP
