This is an 8* TOP WEDNESDAY TOTAL on the OVER Jays/ChiSox.
I had a play on the OVER in this game yesterday and while that didn't pan out, I do now finally think that today's game will blast past the posted number.
The Jays go with Alek Manoah (1-0, 3.86 ERA), who comes in off a fortunate no-decision to the Marlins on Wednesday, allowing four runs, including three home runs, over 3.1 innings of work.
It was his second MLB start ever.
His counterpart is Lance Lynn (7-1, 1.23) who cruised to his seventh win last time out, allowing one run off four hits over six innings against the Tigers on Thursday. Lynn's been unbelievable, as he hasn't even allowed a single earned run over his last three starts. Regression at some point will happen this year.
But when Lynn exits, the White Sox bullpen has to be called into question. And I'm not at all convinced Manoah will be able to stick in this game very long.
Finally, note that Toronto has seen the total go OVER the number in eight of its last 11 in trying to avenge a road loss against an opponent in which it was held to one or less runs in.
I like the Jays to get back on track at the plate here and everything points to a monster game from the home side as well.
