The Colorado Avalanche are up 2-0 on Arizona after a 3-2 win yesterday. Colorado dominated in Game 1, winning the game 3-0 and came back yesterday with a 3-2 win. A win today gives them a commanding lead in the series. In Game 1, goaltender Phillipp Grubauer faced just 14 shots in the win. Since this is the second game of a back to back, expect to see Pavel Francouz in the net for Colorado. During the regular season, he posted a 21-7-4 record with a 2.41 goals=against average and .923 save percentage.
The Coyotes played much better in game two than in game one. They were outshot in game one 40-14 and goaltender Darcy Kuemper did the best he could holding the Avalanche scoreless for two periods. Antti Raanta has been listed as day to day but I expect him in the net for today's game. During the season, he went 15-14-3 with a 2.63 goals-against average and .923 save percentage.
This is the second game of a back to back for both teams so I expect to see both backups. With Arizona being down 0-2 they may feel a need to go back to Kuemper again. Colorado has by far the better backup and would even lean to the Avalanche backup over a tired Kuemper. Colorado has shown that they can score and even though Arizona scored twice in game two, they have an inability to score.
Play on Colorado on the puck-line(minus 1.5 goals).
