The San Diego Padres are ready for an interleague clash with the Los Angeles Angels. The Padres find themselves 4.5-games back of the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place in the division. They have been on a nice run having won 11 of their last 14 games and hold a four-game lead over the Colorado Rockies for second place in the division race. The Padres will look to continue their winnings ways by sending Dinelson Lamet to the mound. This season, Lament has posted a 2-1 record with a 2.35 ERA in seven starts. In his last start, he went five innings and gave up a season-high three runs against the Mariners.

The Angels will counter with Julio Teheran taking the mound for the Angels. Home is not where the heart is for Teheran, as he has posted an ERA of 15.19 in two home starts and an ERA of 6.57 when he starts on the road. This season, he is 0-2 with a 9.17 ERA. In his last outing, he went 4 ⅔ innings and allowed three runs. He has made 12 career starts against the Padres posting a 5-4 record and 3.81 ERA.

Lament has allowed two runs or fewer in six of his seven outings. The Padres bats have been poping all season and they added more bats at the trade deadline and throw in Mike Cleavenger the Padres are poised to make a playoff run. The Angels have been bad all season and Tehran has not pitched well at home. This sets up for an easy Padres win, so take them on the run-line for max value.
