Point Spread: -3.00 | -110.00 Houston (Away)
Result: Win
The Houston Texans have split their last six games and are looking for a little consistency on both sides of the ball. The Texans need to find a win on the road as they have lost four of their last five away from Houston. The offense is led by Deshaun Watson with 2,883 passing yards, to go with 20 touchdowns and five interceptions. His favorite targets are Will Fuller and Brandin Cooks, who have combined to catch passes for 1,342 and nine touchdowns. As a team, they are rushing for 84.6 yards a game and are led by David Johnson with 408 yards and three touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, they are giving up 27.2 points and 411.7 yards a game.
The Detroit Lions have split their last eight games and have lost three of their last four home games. The offense is led by Matthew Stafford with 2,581 passing yards, to go with 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions. His best two options are Marvin Jones Jr. and TJ Hockenson, who have combined to catch passes for 896 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. As a team, they rush for 95.4 yards led by Adrian Peterson with 389 yards and two touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball. they are giving up 28.7 points and 397.4 yards a game.
Both teams are terrible this season but Houston is playing better at the moment. They are coming off a win over the Patriots and now have some confidence, but they have not won back-to-back games since last December. The Detroit Lions were shut out last week and have now lost three of their last four games. Neither team can run the ball so passing will be at a premium. The Texans are 8th in the league in passing and 22nd against the pass, while the Lions are 15th in passing and 25th against the pass. Detroit's secondary is banged up and will be without a starter or two.
Play on Houston.
