The Utah Valley Wolverines will take on the BYU Cougars in college basketball action. Utah Valley finished last season at 11-19 and they were just 5-10 in the Western Athletic Conference. Utah Valley is 1-0 this season after dispatching Adams State 100-75 in their opener. Fardaws Aimaq had a huge game for the Wolverines with 24 points, 18 rebounds, and two assists. Jamison Overton added 22 points and five assists and Trey Woodbury chipped in 22 points and dished out four assists in the win.
BYU has opened the season at 2-0 with wins over Westminster UT and New Orleans. In their 108-59 win over Westminster UT, Alex Barcello led the Cougars with 25 points, five rebounds, and two assists. Brandon Averette added 15 points and dished out with four assists while Gavin Baxter had 11 points grabbed six boards. In their 86-61 win over New Orleans, they were led once again by Barcello with 19 points, four assists and seven rebounds. Connor Harding and Kolby Lee each posted 12 points, four rebounds and two assists.
The Wolverines are 7-15 ATS in their last 22 games overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games versus a team with a winning home record.
BYU is 11-4 ATS in their last 15 home games and 16-7 ATS in their last 23 overall. The Cougars have shown an explosive offense to start the season even though it hasn't been against the stiffest of competition. BYU is returning just a couple of starters from last year's team, but the new players seem to be fitting in nicely. I like BYU to cover the BIG number.
