The Cincinnati Reds dropped Game one of their series with the Chicago Cubs 1-0. The Reds could not find a way to scratch a run off of Albert Alzolay. The Reds will look to get a win today by sending Luis Castillo to the mound. He has not been good this season, posting a 1-7 record with a 7.61 ERA and 45 strikeouts this season. Against the Cubs, he is 4-4 with a 3.95 ERA and 65 strikeouts

The Chicago Cubs got a solo home run from David Bote and nothing else in a 1-0 win yesterday, as they managed just three hits off of Reds pitching. The Cubs will counter with Zach Davis on the mound. He is 2-2 this season and has posted a 4.96 ERA and 26 strikeouts. Against the Reds, he is 3-4 with a 4.46 ERA and 54 strikeouts.

Cincinnati is 5-11 in their last 16 games as a road underdog and 3-8 in their last 11 games overall. Chicago is 9-2 in their last 11 home games. Castillo has been terrible all season and even though Davies has not pitched well his last two starts have not been all that bad. The Cubs have been finding ways to win games and I like their chances to get some runs off of Catillo early which should help Davies settle down.
