PINSTRIPE BOWL: (7-1 L8)
(NCAAF) Maryland vs. Virginia Tech,
Point Spread: -3.50 | -115.00 Maryland (Away)
Result: Win
Virginia Tech started the season with an impressive win over North Carolina and then the wheels fell off. They went on to lose 4 of their next 6 games. They went 3-5 down the stretch but it wasn't good enough as the coach was fired. To make things worse for the Hokies, they will be without their starting and backup quarterbacks, as they entered the portal and five other starters who have opted out of the Pinstripe Bowl. Maryland had an inconsistent year as their offense could score with anybody, having the 22nd best passing offense in the country but their defense struggled to stop anyone with a pulse. Maryland gave up 32.4 points and 415.6 yards a game, which should give the Hokies some hope with their rushing attack that was ranked 28th in the country. The loss of Burmeister as a dual-threat quarterback takes some of the punch out of the rushing attack. Maryland Terrapins went 4-8 ATS for the season while Virginia Tech was 5-7 ATS. Virginia Tech has covered the spread in 5 of their 12 games. With so many key players out for Virginia Tech, I think they will find it difficult to score no matter how bad the Maryland defense is.

Play on Maryland. This is a 7* play.
