The Big 10 tourney ends the first day of play with 14th seeded Minnesota taking on 11th seeded Penn State. Minnesota lost four in a row to close out the season and finished the regular season 12-16 overall and just 4-16 in the conference. Penn State lost three in a row to finish the season and ended with a 12-16 overall record and 7-13 in conference play. The two teams split their two meetings this season. Penn State dominated the glass in both games and dominated points in the paint by a total. The Golden Gophers lost six of their last seven games and their last nine games away from home. Penn State won big at home and lost a close game at Minnesota, where the Gophers shot the lights out in that game. I like Penn States' rebounding edge and better defense to carry the day.
