The San Diego Padres take on the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Padres didn't live up to expectations last season. posting a 79-83 record and missed the playoffs. Arizona posted a 52-110 record and finished last in the NL West. The Padres were 11-8 against the Diamondbacks last season. The Padres will send newly acquired Sean Manaea to the mound. He was 11-10 last season with a 3.91 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP. Merrill Kelly posted a 7-11 record to go with a 4.44 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP. Arizona won four of the last seven against the Padres at home but this Padres team should be different this season. I don't expect Kelly to go long and I don't trust the D'backs pen to do much.
