The Cardinals avoided a sweep and snapped a losing streak by defeating the Mets yesterday. They will be facing an Arizona team that took two straight from the Dodgers. Arizona has struggled to score runs all season, they have been getting some really good pitching. St. Louis has also relied on their pitching and they rank solid seventh in team ERA. The Diamondbacks will go with Humberto Castellanos on the mound. He is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA this season. In his last start, he allowed two runs on four hits in five innings. The Cardinals will send out Dakota Hudson. He is 1-1 with a 3.95 ERA this season. In his last start, he went 6 2/3 scoreless innings allowing just two hits. I know the Reds scored 10 runs yesterday but before that outbreak, they had scored a total of three runs in their last three games. The D-Backs have scored eight runs in their last two games but only had six hits in them. The total has gone Under in six of the last seven games between these teams. Both pitchers had good outings last time out and I look for that to continue against these less than stellar offenses.
