The Cal Golden Bears head to South Bend to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Cal comes into this game at 2-0 after a 20-14 win over UNLV last time out. Notre Dame has gone 0-2 to start the season, an opening game loss to Ohio State is acceptable but last week's loss to Marchall is not, Quarterback Tyler Buchner was injured in the Marchall loss and is out for the season. Cal is 4-1 to the under in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record. Notre Dame has gone under in four of their last five home games against a team with a winning road record.
Cal couldn't do much offensively against UNLV and I don't see them doing much against this ND defense, Notre Dame’s offense hasn’t been very good and now they must go with a backup quarterback. I expect Notre Dame to try and control the ball on the ground early to take pressure off the quarterback. Cal's offense will struggle against what should be an angry defense looking for revenge after last week.
