The Vegas Golden Knights take on the Los Angeles Kings to start the season. The Golden Knights missed the playoffs last season for the first time in their franchise history. The Kings had the third-best record in the Pacific Division but were eliminated in the First Round of the playoffs.
Last season the Golden Knights were hit by the injury bug and lost a lot of key players. Last season, they ranked 12th in goals per game Goaltender Robin Lehner is out for the season with a hip injury and Laurent Brossoit is also out for a while. Logan Thompson will likely get the start against the Kings. L.A. was 3-4 in the preseason and split two games facing the Golden Knights. Vegas has a new head coach and unproven goaltending. The Kings will rely on their offense and I like their offense to get it done in the season opener.
