The ALCS gets underway today with the New York Yankees taking on the rested Houston Astros. The Yankees will send Jameson Taillon to face Justin Verlander. Taillon was 14-5 this season with a 3.91 ERA while Verlander was an impressive 18-4, with a 1.75 ERA. Houston has played just three games since October 5 and will need to shake off the rest early. The Yankees didn't ax their bullpen in their game 5 win but it could still pose a [problem as this series goes on. The Yankees went under the number in three of the five games with Cleveland While Houston went under in two of three against the Mariners. These two teams played seven times this season with the over winning 4 times. Going into game five against Cleveland, the Yankees were hitting just .177 in the playoffs. Verlander will bounce back after a dismal performance against the Mariners in his first playoff start. The Astros haven't gotten their bats going and will be a little rusty from their layoff. I look for this game to go under the number.
