The Houston Astros tied up the series in a dramatic way by combining to no-hit the Phillies. Justin Verlander will get the tart for the Astros. They hope he gets back to regular season form, where he posted an 18-4, record and a 1.75 ERA. In the playoffs, he is 1-0 but has posted a 7.20 ERA. The Phillies will send Noah Syndergaard to the mound. He is 10-10 with a 3.94 ERA during the regular season and 0-0 with a 1.69 ERA in the playoffs. Verlander has not fared well in the World Series, going 0-6 in 8 starts with a 6.07 ERA. Noah Syndergaard has been used primarily out of the pen in the playoffs. His job will be to get the Phils to either the fourth or fifth before they go to the pen. If Verlander didn't botch an easy double play ball in Game 1 he could be pitching to clinch the series. The Astros will look to get six strong innings out of Verlander and turn it over to their dominant bullpen. Even though the Phillies' pen has pitched well, they still are a weak point of the team.
