The Miami Marlins battle the Seattle Mariners in an interleague battle. This will be the first game of a three-game set. Miami is 12-3 in its last 15 games overall after taking two of three against the White Sox. Jesus Luzardo will make the start for Miami. He is 5-4 with a 3.79 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP. Over his last four starts, he is 2-2 with a 5.24 ERA. He is 3-2 on the road in five starts, posting a 5.13 ERA and 1.59 WHIP. The Marines dropped two of three to the Angels over the weekend. The Mariners are just 3-8 over their last 11. The Mariners will go with Bryce Miller on the mound. He is 3-3 with a 4.46 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP. Luzardo went seven innings of a one-run, two-hit baseball last time out. Miami has been the better team and though the Mariners have a potent offense on paper they have not delivered at the plate with any consistency. Miller is not someone I want to stake my money on.
