We have two teams heading in different directions when the Chicago Cubs take on the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Cubs have been up and down this season but good for them they are in the NL Central. They are only 3.5 games out of first place despite being under .500. They have been on a nice run having won 6 of their last 7 games. The Cubs will look to keep the momentum going by sending Marcus Stroman to the mound. He has posted a 2.45 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP. The Pirates have had hot and cold streaks this season. Right now, they are on a cold streak. They have lost 7 straight games and four of those have come against these Cubs. Johan Oviedo will get the start for the Pirates. Oviedo has posted a 4.40 ERA this season. There has been a huge difference in the offenses over the last week. The Cubs are putting up over 7 runs a game compared to Pittsburgh scoring just over two. Pittsburgh will struggle to score against Stroman just as they did last week. The Cubs should get some good swings against Oveida and I like them to come away with a win.
