(MLB) Miami vs. NY Mets,
Money Line: -129.00 Miami (Away)
Result: Win
The Miami Marlins and the New York Mets played a doubleheader yesterday and will be [;4playing their third game in 27 hours. Miami will turn to Jesus Luzardo for today's start as they find themselves tied for the last wild card spot (They do own the tie-breaker). He is 10-9 this season with a 3.73 ERA and 1.24 WHIP. The Mets will go with David Peterson on the mound. He is 3-8 this season with a 5.37 ERA and 1.60 WHIP. With three games in a short time frame, the bullpens could become a factor. There is not much of a difference between the pens. Miami is ranked 21st in ERA and 22nd in WHIP while New York is 22nd in ERA and 19th in WHIP. Luzarda is the better pitcher, even though he has struggled a bit in the second half. With both teams being tired, I expect the Marlins to have a little more energy in this one as they control their wild-card future. Win out and they are in.
