The Baltimore Orioles took game one of their series with the Texas Rangers, Max Scherzer will be making his second start of the season. In his first start, he went seven innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and struck out 10. Texas is putting up 4.2 runs per game, which is 18th in the league. Albert Suarez is expected to start for the Orioles. Suarez is 3-2 to go with a 2.70 ERA. At home he has posted a 1.88 ERA. Baltimore is putting up 5.28 runs per game which is the best in baseball. Scherzer is coming off back surgery and isn’t getting any younger. He did give up five runs in his return and it is hard to know what to expect from him going forward. Suarez has pitched his best at home this season. Baltimore's bullpen is top-10 and the Texas bats have been inconsistent, especially in June. Baltimore has the best offense in baseball and I expect Mad Max to struggle.
