The Tampa Bay Rays and Detroit Tigers meet in the first game of a three-game set in Detroit.  Ryan Pepiot takes the mound for the Rays while the Tigers will go with Tarik Skubal. Pepiot has posted a 3.64 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over 121 innings this season. The Rays have won four in a row. The Tigers find themselves in a race for a Wild Card spot. Tarik Skubal has been lights out all season. He has not allowed more than three runs in his last eight starts. He has posted a 2.48 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, with 221 strikeouts and just 34 walks in 185 innings. The Detroit Tigers have won 11 of their last 14.  The Rays are in a spoiler roll but they won’t spoil the Tiger’s party with Skubal on the mound.
