The New Jersey Devils are loaded with young talent, and looked to shore up the deficiency between the pipes by adding Jacob Markstrom. New Jersey put up 3.22 goals per game which ranked 12th in the NHL, but were in the bottom 10 in goals against with 3.43 per game. Buffalo struggled against finding the back of the net, scoring just 2.98 goals per game. They were good on the defensive end, allowing just 2.96 goals per game. The Devils went 2-1 against the Sabres last season outscoring them 14-11. They are 7-3 in the last 10. I like the Devils to open the season with a win.
