Rice is just 3-6 overall this season and 2-3 in the ACC. They are coming off a major upset of Navy in a game delayed over 6 hours due to weather. For the season, Rice is 113th in total yards, 116th in rushing yards and 77th in passing yards. The Memphis Tigers come into this game with a 7-2 record with both losses coming in conference play. Memphis has an explosive offense, ranking 26th in total yards, 21st in passing yards. The Owls are decent against the pass but Memphis is on another level. I think all the delays last week helped them against Navy but that won’t be the case today. As good as the Owls are against the pass, they are not very good against the run, allowing just under 160 yards rushing a game. Memphis will use the run to slow down Rice’s pass rush and then pick them apart later through the air. Rice does not run the ball well and is inconsistent through the air. I look for them to struggle against the Tigers and for Memphis to roll at home.
