I’m on the Royals -1.5 run line on the road vs the Chicago Whitesox for these reasons:
- Wacha is on the mound for the royals and he’s been middle of the pack when it comes to Royals pitching staff in terms of wins (7-6). He gets hit enough to cause worry, but he doesn’t give up much runs and shouldn’t against a low scoring team like The Whitesox. He’s less hittable on the road, and walks bats less as well so I’m confident his start will be successful.
- Whitesox bat .214 against right handed pitchers this season. Wacha is a righty, and has 86 strikeouts in the 101 innings pitched this season.
- Johnathan Cannon is 1-5 this season as a starter for Chicago, and he’s not going to have an easy start today with the Royals batting .248 against righties this season. 10 runs given up in his last 3 starts and has on 9 strikeouts in that stretch as well. Witt Jr and company should have a good outing tonight.
- We don’t even have to dive into the fielding units or relief pitching. We know the advantage highly favors KC.
Official Play: Royals Runline -1.5
Side Bet: Wacha Over 17.5 Outs
Hail Mary: Under 9 Runs
