Money Line: -130.00 Nuggets (DEN) (Home)
Result: Loss
I’m on the Nuggets Moneyline at home vs the Thunder for these reasons:
- There’s injuries to this Thunder team that take all the steam out of them winning this game on the road to start their season. No Hartenstein, no Jaylin Williams, No Kenrich Williams, and a hurt Jalen Williams who’s been cleared to play this morning. Nuggets injury report is insignificant and shorter, so there’s no reason to be concerned about the home team and ex champions.
- The nuggets are 1-3 vs the Thunder in the last 4 games, 1 of those games however, were without Jokic, and that’s a huge wrench in the game. Since the new construction of this Thunder Team post - Paul George, the defense has lacked from the Thunder team, and that’s going to be tough to come by vs a Nuggets team that can kill the pace of the game and dictate how many possessions the other team gets.
- Jokic vs Chet, should be a cake walk offensively for Jokic. Chet isn’t a rebounder or a back to the basket type player. He’s a shooting big man, so expect Jokic to own that matchup on both sides of the ball. Honestly, I expect the defensive size of the Nuggets overall, to be the deciding factor here, with Murray, and Aaron Gordon also having a strong advantage in size of the players defending (Shai and Dort).
- Main reason is that we can’t bet on Thunder with injuries vs a healthy Denver team that you need all hands on deck in order to beat at home.
Official Play: Nuggets Moneyline
Side Bet: Jokic over 26 points
Hail Mary: Over 226
