The Rangers have not been playing in many high scoring games recently but they have been playing very well as they have won 8 of their last 9 games and this is the perfect spot for their offense to finally explode again with some runs. They are going up against a Giants team that has lost 4 of their last 5 games but they have been in some high scoring games recently as their offense has been good and they will be desparate to bounce back here at home. They have had 11 runs or more total in 3 of their last 4 games and have scored at least 5 runs in 3 of those as well. Jon Gray is starting for the Rangers here and he is 7-5 with a 3.72 ERA this season. He has not been good in his recent starts as he has allowed at least 5 runs in each of his last 2 as well as allowing at least 4 runs in 5 of his last 6 starts. He was pitching very well all season but he has been unraveling since July as he is allowing more runs in his starts now and the Giants offense has still been hot recently despite their losing skid, they will score runs on Gray and that awful Rangers bullpen here at home. Scott Alexander is starting for the Giants here and he is 6-2 with a 4.01 ERA this season. He has mainly been a reliever this season but even in his relief appearances he has not been good recently as he allowed 3 earned runs in his last appearance without getting a single out and even in his appearance prior to that he allowed 1 earned run while only getting 1 batter out. This is likely going to be a bullpen game for the Giants as well and their pitching has not been good recently as they have been allowing a lot of runs. The Rangers are also very hot right now and have one of the better offenses in the league, they are going to score runs here. Between these two teams, there will be enough runs in this game to push it over the total.
