Man City is coming into this match after a very interesting start to the season. They opened with a 1-1 draw in the Community Shield which led to Arsenal winning it in penalties but then bounced back with a 3-0 away win against newly promoted Burnley to open up the Premier League season. Now they are coming off of winning the UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla but they were not great in that match as they drew 1-1 and needed penalties to decide. Now they are coming into this 1st home match of the season and they are missing one of their biggest pieces in Kevin De Bruyne. Man City still has a lot of fire power in their attack without him though and they are going to be eager to get after Newcastle here as they emerged as a dominant force in the league last season and are only going to get better. The treble champions will be looking to send a message in this match at home and they will be pushing for goals here. Newcastle did have a very good defense last season as it was the best in the league but they also started to allow more goals near the end of the season as they focused more on their attack and they are even coming off of a 5-1 win at home against Aston Villa in their 1st match of the season. Newcastle conceded a goal in that match at home and they are definitely going to concede here away from home against the best team in the Premier League, but Newcastle also has a very potent attack that has been improving and they will surely be looking for goals themselves as they will need goals against Man City to pull out a result. Between these two sides, there will be enough goals in this match to push it over 2.5 goals.
