The Padres are coming into this game not playing well recently as they have lost 3 of their last 5 games and they have been much worse on the road this season as they are 26-34 there. They are going up against a Brewers team that has been good at home this season and has been playing very well in their recent games. They have won their last 5 straight games and not only has their pitching been great as they have one of the best pitching staffs in the league right now, but their offense has also been getting much better in those as they have scored at least 6 runs in each of their last 5 games. Brandon Woodruff is starting for the Brewers here and he is 2-1 with a 2.89 ERA this season. He has only had 5 starts this season due to an injury that kept him out a while but he has not been bad in his starts as he has allowed just 2 earned runs or less in 4 of his 5 starts this season, including both of his home starts as well. He will pitch much better here at home as he looks to bounce back from his last start and the Padres do not have a great offense either so he will have no trouble trying to bounce back here at home. Yu Darvish is starting for the Padres here and he is 8-9 with a 4.35 ERA this season. He has not been great all season as he has been very inconsistent and even in his last 2 starts he allowed 4 earned runs in each. He is going to allow some runs here with the way he has been pitching, especially when the Brewers offense has been getting hot now and the Padres will not offer much run support themselves as they do not have a strong offense and have only been averaging less than 3 runs scored per game in their last 4 games. The Brewers will win this game at home and continue to roll here.
