The Mariners are coming into this game playing very well recently as they have won 5 of their last 6 as well as 12 of their last 14 games. They have hit a surge of good play and are now in a position to win the AL West as they are leading the division. They are going up against a Mets team that has been awful all season and have not been playing well recently either. They have lost 2 of their last 3 as well as 6 of their last 8 games and their offense has also been bad in that span, scoring just 3 runs or less in 5 of their last 6 games. Kodai Senga is starting for the Mets here and he is 10-7 with a 3.17 ERA this season. He has not been pitching poorly in his recent starts but he has still been consistently allowing runs as he has allowed at least 2 earned runs in each of his last 3 starts at home and that is going to be a problem with the way the Mariners have been scoring recently. The Mariners offense has been heating up over the last few weeks on their surge and the Mets do not have a great bullpen to hold this game down late either. Logan Gilbert is starting for the Mariners here and he is 12-5 with a 3.66 ERA this season. He has also been pitching very well in his recent starts as he has allowed 2 earned runs or less in 3 of his last 4 starts but unlike Senga, Gilbert has been allowing a lot less runs consistently in his starts. The Mariners also have a much better bullpen to hang onto any lead they get here and they are on a mission to win the division now that they are in position to. The Mariners will keep on rolling and win this game.
