The Pelicans are coming into this game with a 2-1 record but they are coming off of an embarrassing loss at home in their last game as they lost by close to 30 points against the Warriors. The Warriors are one of the best teams in the NBA though and the Pelicans have still played very well in their first 2 games of the season as they won on the road in Memphis and beat the Knicks at home as well. Now they are going to be hungry to bounce back while these starters are still very healthy. They are going up against a Thunder team that is 3-1 this season and has been improving a lot over the last 3 seasons. They won their first 2 games of the season on the road which is very impressive but they also won against the Cavaliers and the Bulls who have both been struggling with records .500 or below after 4 games this season. Their last win also came against the Pistons who were one of the worst teams in the NBA last season while their only loss was at home against the Nuggets who gave them a nice dose of reality by winning the game by over 30 points. The Thunder are definitely more improved this season but they have been overachieving a little in these first few games while the Pelicans do have one of the better teams in the Western Conference when their starters are healthy and they will be hungry to bounce back after that embarrassing home loss. The Pelicans will cover the spread in this game.
