Michigan is coming into this game with a 3-2 record this season and they have now lost their last 2 straight games after winning their first 3 of the season. They were blowing teams out by 10+ points in their first 3 games of the season but after their win against St John's at MSG they dropped a game at home to Long Beach State and then followed up with another loss to Memphis in this tournament. They were dominated by Memphis in their last game from start to finish as they never really had a lead in the game, but they did pull off a good come back to only lose by 4 points as they took over the 2nd half in that game. Michigan still has a good team and after 2 close losses now, they are going to be hungry to bounce back with a win in this game. They are going up against a Stanford team that is 3-2 this season but they have not been that great in their games this year. Their 3 wins this year have come against 2 bad teams in Eastern Washington and Sacramento State while their other win was against a 3-2 Cal State Northridge in the 1st game of the season. They lost by 10+ points at home against Santa Clara though and lost to Arkansas in their last game by 3 points after 2 OTs. The Arkansas loss is not a bad loss since Arkansas is ranked number 20 in the country but their team is not what it was last season and they are not going to be ranked for much longer as their team is not that good. Michigan has had a much tougher schedule in their recent games and have been playing much better in those games, they are going to beat Stanford here as they are just the better team and will be hungry to bounce back from 2 straight losses.
