San Francisco went into their conference tournament knowing they needed to win it to get to the NCAA Tournament and their chances were not great to begin with, but they are going to be motivated in this tournament since it is still a chance for them to shine against weaker competition they can keep up with. They are going up against a Cincinnati team that is 20-14 this season and they were 7-11 in the conference. They have been playing well in their recent games as they have won 3 of their last 4 games and went on a bit of a run in the Big 12 Tournament, but 2 of their wins in that span came against West Virginia who was the worst team in the Big 12 this year, while the other win came against a Kansas team missing their 2 best players. They fizzled out of the tournament with a 12 point loss to Baylor and they showed their struggles in the Big 12 all season as they only won 3 of their 9 games against teams that finished with a winning conference record.
