AMEDEUS' MLB DIAMOND DINGER!
(MLB) Texas vs. Tampa Bay,
Money Line: 136.00 Texas (Away)
Result: Loss
The Rangers are coming into this game with a 3-1 record this season and they are coming off of a 9-3 win against the Rays in the 1st game of this series. Their offense has been great in these games as they have scored at least 4 runs in each of their 4 games this season as well as scoring at least 9 runs in 2 of their last 3 games. They are going up against a Rays team that is 2-3 this season and their offense has not been as good as they have scored 3 runs or less in 3 of their 5 games this season. Zach Eflin is starting for the Rays in this game and he is 0-1 with a 9.53 ERA after his 1st start of the season. He allowed 6 earned runs and 6 hits in a little under 6 innings pitched against the Blue Jays and that is going to be a problem with the way the Rangers offense has come out on fire to start the season. This has also been an issue for Eflin going back to Spring Training as he was 0-3 with an 8.49 ERA, allowing 11 earned runs, 15 runs, and 17 hits in a little under 12 innings pitched. Andrew Heaney is starting for the Rangers in this game and he has not made his 1st start of this season yet but he was not as bad as Eflin was in Spring Training. Heaney was 0-0 with a 3.60 ERA as he allowed 4 earned runs in 10 innings pitched. The Rays are going to struggle to score runs on Heaney in this game as the Rays offense has not been hitting well to start the season and even if Heaney gives up some runs here, Eflin has been much worse in his starts this year and will give up a lot of runs himself with this Rangers offense playing very well right now. The Rangers have a much better pitching matchup in this game and they have the stronger offense to lean on right now. The Rangers will win this game.
