He has been a very good starter for the Pirates this season and he has been even better in his recent starts. He has not allowed more than 2 earned runs in each of his last 5 starts, allowing just 1 earned run or less in 4 of those. He has also been pitching deep into his starts recently and will continue that here. Joe Ryan is starting for the Twins in this game and he is 4-4 with a 3.38 ERA this season. He has not been a bad starter for the Twins, but recently he has been giving up more runs in his starts which was also a problem in his 1st month of the season. He allowed 5 earned runs in his last start against the Astros and has allowed at least 4 earned runs in 2 of his last 4 starts as well. The Pirates offense has been heating up recently so they are going to find ways to score runs here at home with the way Ryan has been pitching and the Twins bullpen has not been great either, allowing a lot of runs in their last series.
