The Twins are coming into this game with a 45-37 record this season and they have been playing well in their recent games as they were scoring a lot of runs, but their offense has cooled down now after losing 3-2 in the series opener on Friday. They are going up against a Mariners team that is coming off of that 3-2 win and has been playing very well recently as they are 47-37 this season, leading the AL West. They broke the 3 game losing streak they were on in their last series and have now won their last 2 straight games. Their pitching has been great in those as they have allowed just 2 runs in each of their last 2 games, and they are going to have another good starter on the mound here. Bryce Miller is starting for the Mariners in this game and he is 6-6 with a 3.90 ERA this season. He is coming off of an awful start in his last one which he allowed 6 earned runs in, but prior to that he was pitching well as he only allowed 2 earned runs or less in each of his last 2 as well as 4 of his last 5 starts. He has also been much better at home this season as he has allowed no runs in his last 2 starts there as well as allowing just 2 earned runs or less in each of his last 7 home starts. He has been much better at home as a starter this year and this is a great spot for him to bounce back in off of that bad performance in his last start. Pablo LΓ³pez is starting for the Twins in this game and he is 7-6 with a 5.11 ERA this season. He is coming off of a start which he allowed no runs in, but he also allowed 5 earned runs in his start prior and has been very inconsistent this season. His last start was actually his 1st start this season in 16 starts which he did not allow any runs in. He has allowed at least 5 earned runs in 2 of his last 4 as well as 4 of his last 7 starts, and even in his road starts he has allowed at least 4 earned runs in 3 of his last 5. The Mariners are starting to get hot again while the Twins are cooling down after that offensive outbreak in their last series, and the Mariners have the more consistent starter as well as the better bullpen in this game. The Mariners will win this game.
