He allowed no runs in his last start, but prior to that he allowed 2 earned runs in 2 innings pitched and also allowed 7 earned runs in a little under 4 innings pitched. The Diamondbacks offense has been heating up recently as they were getting a lot of hits in that 1st game back from the break, and Hendricks is not a starter who is going to pitch well deep into games so the Diamondbacks will have their opportunities to score against him and the Cubs bullpen. Zac Gallen is starting for the Diamondbacks in this game and he is 6-5 with a 3.87 ERA this season. He allowed 6 earned runs in his last start and he has been having a rough 3 starts in July, but he is a very reliable starter and will be hungry to bounce back now that he had the All Star break to rest and regroup. The Cubs do not have a very strong offense either and they have not been scoring a lot of runs recently.
