AMEDEUS' MLB GOLD STRIKE!
(MLB) Brewers (MIL) vs. Braves (ATL),
Money Line: -140.00 Braves (ATL) (Home)
Result: Loss
The Brewers are coming into this game with a 64-49 record this season and they have not been great in their recent games. They have won 2 straight games against the Braves, but prior to this series they had lost 2 of their 3 games against the Nationals and 2 of their 3 games against the Braves last week. They are going up against a Braves team that is 60-53 this season and they have not been playing great recently. They have lost their last 4 straight games and will be trying to avoid the sweep here at home, but this is a great spot for them to win and snap that losing streak. Frankie Montas is starting for the Brewers in this game and he is 5-8 with a 5.03 ERA this season. He allowed 3 earned runs in his first start with the Brewers and has been allowing a lot of runs recently going back to his starts for the Reds. He has actually allowed at least 4 earned runs in 3 of his last 4 starts, allowing at least 3 earned runs in each of those 4, and he just allowed 4 earned runs in a little over 4 innings pitched in Atlanta against the Braves just 2 weeks ago. He also allowed 10 hits in that game and he is going to give the Braves plenty of scoring opportunities again here at home as the Braves will be hungry to to win this game and avoid the sweep. Charlie Morton is starting for the Braves in this game and he is 6-6 with a 3.94 ERA this season. He has been pitching much better in his recent starts as he has allowed 1 earned run or less in 2 of his last 3 starts. He has also been much better at home as he has allowed just 1 earned run or less in each of his last 2 as well as 5 of his last 6 starts there. Morton has been a completely different pitcher at home in his recent starts and he is what the Braves need in this game to keep the Brewers offense from scoring while the Braves lineup takes care of the rest. The Braves will win this game at home.
