AMEDEUS' MLB GOLD STRIKE!
(MLB) Astros (HOU) vs. Rays (TAM),
Total: 7.50 | -118.00 Under
Result: Win
The Astros are coming into this game playing in a lot of high scoring games recently as they have seen 9+ runs total in each of their last 4 games. Prior to this span, they had actually seen 7 runs total or less in 5 straight games and that includes all 3 games played against the Rays last weekend. They are going up against a Rays team that has been playing in a lot of lower scoring games recently. They have seen 7 runs total or less in 2 of their last 3 as well as 7 of their last 9 matches and their offense has not been good in those as they have scored 3 runs or less in 5 of their last 7 games. Framber Valdez is starting for the Astros in this game and he is 11-5 with a 3.46 ERA this season. He has been pitching well in his recent starts as he only allowed 2 earned runs in his last one, and he has allowed 2 earned runs or less in 4 of his last 5 starts as well. The Rays do not have a good offense this season anyway and they have not been scoring a lot of runs recently either so it will not be hard for Valdez to pitch a good game deep into this one. The offense has not been good for the Rays, but their pitching has been much better recently as their bullpen has not been allowing a lot of runs. Taj Bradley is starting for the Rays in this game and he is 6-6 with a 3.07 ERA this season. He has not pitched well in his recent starts as he allowed 5 earned runs in his last start and 4 earned runs just prior to that, but before these 2 bad starts he allowed no runs in 3 straight and allowed 2 earned runs or less in 9 straight starts. He has also been much better at home as he has allowed 1 earned run or less in 6 of his last 7 starts there, and his last home start he allowed 4 earned runs so he will be hungry to bounce back here where he has been great all season. This will be a game that both offenses struggle to score runs in with the better pitching on each side. This will be a low scoring game that stays under the total.
