The Dolphins are coming into this game after a great season which they were 11-6. They fizzled out near the end of the season when they had a chance to win the division and eventually lost to the Chiefs in the 1st round of the playoffs, but they had a very strong start to the season and will be hungry to replicate that. They opened the season 3-0 last year and were 5-1 after 6 games. They were also much better at home all season at 7-2. They still have all their key pieces on offense and that is going to be key since this team not only had a very balanced offense last season, both on the ground and through the air, but they also have an offense with some of the fastest players in the league which has been very difficult for defenses to cover. Their biggest problems last season were on defense, but they have addressed some of those issues and should have a much improved defense this season. They are going up against a Jaguars team that was 9-8 last season and has been improving under Doug Pederson, but they folded up near the end of the season as they had a chance to make the playoffs but lost the division late to the Texans. They brought in Gabe Davis from the Bills but the weapons on their offense are pretty much the same as they were last season, and they just do not have as much as talent as the Dolphins. The Jaguars struggled to keep teams from scoring last season as they held opponents under 20 points in only 5 of their 17 regular season games. The Dolphins have too much speed and quality on this offense for the Jaguars to defend and an improved Dolphins defense will help them shut down this Jags offense that still lacks quality weapons. The Dolphins will cover the spread in this game.
