The Eagles are coming off of a 34-29 win against the Packers in their 1st game of the season. They won that game in Brazil last Friday and have had some extra time to rest, but this will still be a bit of an adjustment from week 1. The offense was very good in that game as they had a very balanced offense on the ground and through the air, but Hurts did make some mistakes in that game which hurt the team. He threw 2 interceptions in the game and set up the Packers with nice field position each time, keeping the Packers in the game with short fields. The defense was not great either as they allowed 29 points and struggled to stop the ground game as well. Their struggles stopping the run led to more completions downfield and allowed the Packers to stay right in this game until the last minute, even with a chance to drive down the field and win the game. They are going up against a Falcons team that is coming off of a bad game in week 1, losing at home to the Steelers 18-10, but they were also going up against one of the better defenses in the league. The Eagles defense is not as good so the Falcons offense will have an easier time moving the ball here as Kirk Cousins pushes to play better than he did in his debut. The Falcons still ran the ball efficiently last week and with the way the Eagles defense struggled to stop the run in week 1, they are going to struggle to stop Bijan Robinson which will only open up the passing game for Cousins. The Eagles defense is going to allow the Falcons offense to keep themselves in this game with a chance to win, just like they did with the Packers last week. Cousins is no stranger to the Eagles either, going 6-5 straight up against them in his career and 3-3 in Philadelphia. He lost against them 34-28 last season with the Vikings but this is his chance to get his revenge now that he is getting a fresh start on a new team. The Falcons will cover the spread in this game.
