Utah is coming into this game with a 3-0 record this season. They are coming off of a 38-21 win against Utah State in their last game and prior to that they beat Baylor 23-12 at home in a game that was not considered a conference game. This is their 1st true conference game of the season, but they did get a bit of a road test against Utah State last week. They are going up against an Oklahoma State team that is 3-0 this season and they are coming off of a 45-10 win against Tulsa in their last game. They have already had a scare this season though, beating Arkansas at home 39-31 in overtime in a game they needed to make a comeback in. They were able to come back in the 2nd half and win in OT after being down 21-7 at half, but Arkansas also did more to lose that game in the 2nd half than Oklahoma State did to win it. Oklahoma State has a very good passing game with Alan Bowman, but they have struggled to run the ball as they are only averaging 112.3 rushing yards per game. That is going to be an issue for this offense since Utah has a very good defense, both passing and run. Utah only averages 143.7 passing yards allowed per game and they have only allowed opposing quarterbacks to complete 45.5% of their passes on the season. Oklahoma State is a heavy passing team that averages 40 attempts per game, but they are going to struggle to move the ball through the air here. They will not be able to take the stress off with the run game either since they are not a strong running team and Utah only averages 109 rushing yards per game as well. Utah has a very balanced offense that is averaging 192 rushing yards per game so Oklahoma State will struggle to stop them as they allow 4.4 yards per carry on the ground. They also have an awful pass defense that allows 305.3 passing yards per game so Rising is going to make plays with his arm. Utah is the better team in every way and they are built to win this conference this season, they are not going to fold in this 1st Big 12 game. Utah will cover the spread in this game.
