AMEDEUS' MLB AL WEST GAME OF THE YEAR!
(MLB) Mariners (SEA) vs. Astros (HOU),
Money Line: -132.00 Astros (HOU) (Home)
Result: Win
The Astros are coming into this game with an 85-72 record this season and they have been playing well in their recent games. They have lost their last 2 straight games, but prior to that they had won 3 straight and they are going to be hungry to bounce back from their 6-1 loss against the Mariners on Monday as all the Astros need here is a win to clinch the AL West. They are going up against a Mariners team that is 81-76 this season and has won 4 of their last 5 games to keep their hopes alive in both the Wild Card and the division, but this is the spot they usually choke in, always finding a way to miss the playoffs in the final stretch of the season the last few years. Logan Gilbert is starting for the Mariners in this game and he is 8-11 with a 3.24 ERA this season. He has not been pitching well this month as he has allowed at least 2 earned runs in all 4 of his starts in September, and he has allowed at least 4 earned runs in 2 of those as well. He has not been great on the road either as he has allowed at least 2 earned runs in each of his last 5 road starts, allowing at least 4 runs in 4 of those as well. Framber Valdez is starting for the Astros in this game and he is 14-7 with a 2.85 ERA this season. He has been pitching very well in his recent starts as he has allowed just 1 earned run or less in each of his last 4 as well as 6 of his last 7 starts, allowing no more than 3 earned runs in any of those. He has also been much better at home recently as he has allowed just 1 earned run total in his last 4 starts there, pitching at least 6 innings in each of those. Gilbert has struggled on the road for most of the season and now with the pressure on him here in a game they need to win, the Astros will score the runs needed to clinch the division here. Valdez has also been pitching so well at home recently, this is a great bounce back spot for the Astros. The Astros will win this game and clinch the AL West.
