Indiana is coming into this game with a 5-0 record this season and they are 2-0 in the Big 10. They are coming off of a 42-28 win at home against Maryland and they have won both of their conference games by 14+ points this season. Curt Cignetti has turned this program around in his 1st season after putting James Madison on the map in his tenure over there. They are going up against a Northwestern team that is 2-2 this season and they are 0-1 in the Big 10. They are coming off of their conference loss in their last game, losing on the road to Washington 24-5. They are coming off of their bye week so they have 2 weeks to get ready for this, but their offense has not been good this season as they have failed to score more than 20 points in any of their 3 games against FBS opponents. Their run game has been good but not great and they have struggled to throw the ball all season. That does not match up well against an Indiana defense that has been very good all year, averaging 82 rushing yards allowed per game, 2.8 yards per carry, and 157.6 passing yards allowed per game. Offense has also been no problem for this team, averaging 210.6 rushing yards per game, 5.3 yards per carry, and 302.4 passing yards per game with a quarterback completing 73.2% of his passes. Northwestern has also been good on defense this season, specifically their run defense which is averaging 79.3 yards per game, but they have been vulnerable in the passing game and Indiana can certainly attack them there. Northwestern will not be able to defend this potent offense as Indiana will move the ball through the air if the run game is not there and they do not have the offense to move the ball efficiently against this defense either. Indiana will cover the spread in this game.
