The Blackhawks are coming into this game off of a 5-2 loss against the Utah Hockey Club in their last game. That was their 1st game of the season and their offense was able to find the net twice, but their defense was not very good. They allowed 5 goals in that game and even gave up a very late goal with 20 seconds left with the goalie still in the net, after Utah had scored an empty netter as well. They are going up against a Jets team that is 1-0-0 this season after a win in their 1st game of the year and they played great in that game. They beat the Oilers 6-0 on the road and will be trying to carry that momentum into their home opener here. Their offense came out on fire as they scored 6 goals in the game and were up right away at the start of the game. Hellebuyck played great in that game as he was able to shut out a very good Oilers offense, but it will be difficult for him to replicate that performance here. As well as he played, B2B shutouts are hard to deliver and the Oilers were also playing their 1st game of the season after losing in the Stanley Cup Final last year. Now the Jets are going up against a Blackhawks team that has already played a game this season and is going to be hungry to get a win after that 5-2 loss. The Blackhawks have some firepower on their first 2 lines so they should be able to find the net here as it will be difficult for Hellebuyck to record another shut out. The Jets have also been on fire with their offense to start the season and they will be able to score some goals at home against this Blackhawks defense that already allowed 5 goals in their 1st road game this season. Between these two sides, there will be enough goals in this match to push it over the total.
