AMEDEUS' MLB BOOKIE BATTER!
(MLB) Dodgers (LAD) vs. Mets (NYM),
Money Line: 120.00 Mets (NYM) (Home)
Result: Loss
The Mets are coming into this game down 2-1 in the series after losing their 1st home game 8-0 to the Dodgers. They have been shut out in 2 of the 3 games in this series, but they scored 7 runs in their only win and their offense has been hot all playoffs. Jose Quintana is starting for the Mets in this game and he is 10-10 with a 3.75 ERA this season. He has been pitching very well in the playoffs this season, allowing no earned runs in both of his starts. He pitched at least 5 innings in both starts and he only allowed 6 hits total between those 2 starts. The Mets also won both of those games, beating the Brewers 4-2 and the Phillies 4-1. He has been great in these playoffs so far, but he has also been pitching very well over the last 2 months as he ended the regular season allowing just 3 earned runs total in his last 6 starts combined. He has not allowed an earned run in his last 3 starts at home either. Yoshinobu Yamamoto is starting for the Dodgers in this game and he is 7-2 with a 3.00 ERA this season. He has pitched twice in these playoffs and was great in his last start, allowing no runs in 5 innings against the Padres, but he also allowed 5 earned runs in just 3 innings against the Padres earlier in that series. He also missed 2 months of the season with an injury and just came back in September. He has not been pitching very deep into his starts and the only time he faced the Mets this season was back in April, allowing 4 runs, 3 earned, in a 9-4 loss at home. The Mets struggled to score a run in game 3 but they were getting guys on base and had their chances to make it a game before the Dodgers added to the lead. The Mets will get find ways to get on base again in this game and they will take advantage of their opportunities to score as this is now a must win game for them to stay in this series and avoid the pressure of facing elimination in the next game. They will get a good performance out of Quintana as he will be able to go deep into this start as well and the Mets have an offense that has been scoring runs all throughout the playoffs. The Mets will win this game at home and even up the series.
