The Devils are coming into this game with a 4-2-0 record this season and they are coming off of a loss in their last game. They lost on the road against the Hurricanes 4-2, but their defense has been very good this season. They have only allowed 4 goals in 2 of their 6 games this season and they will be hungry to bounce back with a better performance on defense here. They are going up against a Senators team that is 2-1-0 this season and they have won both of their games at home. Their only loss came on the road against the Canadiens 4-1, but they beat the Panthers 3-1 at home as well as the Kings 8-7. They beat the Kings 8-7 in OT in their last game in a very high scoring back and forth game, but the Senators were trailing many times in that game and never had a lead until they scored the 7th goal to go up 7-6, and the still allowed the Kings to tie it again. The Devils have a much better defense and this is going to be the 1st real defensive test for this Senators team. They have not been allowing many goals this season so the Senators are not going to be able to score at will if they need to make a comeback. Their defense has also been awful themselves, allowing 12 goals in their last 2 games alone, and the Devils also have a lot of scoring power in their offense as they are one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference this season. The Devils are going to find the net on this Ottawa defense and the Sens will not be able to respond as easily against this Devils defense which will keep them out of the net and that will be the difference here. The Devils will win this game.
