The Knicks are coming into this game after a very good season which they finished as the number 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. They were kicked out of the playoffs by the Pacers 4-3 in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, but that is only going to make them hungrier to win this season after getting so close. They have made some moves to improve the team as well, bringing in Karl-Anthony Towns and he should have an immediate impact in the lineup. They had a very good preseason as well, winning 4 of their 5 games, and now they have a chance to test their new team out against the NBA Champions. They are going up against a Celtics team that is coming off of a great season. They finished as the number 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, had the best home record in the league, and they won the NBA Championship as well. They have not really changed their team much as they are the team to beat in the NBA right now, but the hunger is not going to be there to start the season after finally winning the NBA Championship and getting to raise the banner in this game. It is going to be an emotional night for the Celtics and the Knicks can take advantage of that to start the game. The Celtics only lost 4 games at home during the regular season last year, but the Knicks were one of those teams as they beat them in their very last meeting which was a much improved Knicks team after trading for Anunoby, and now they are trying to take the next big step with another trade for KAT. The Knicks have the quality to challenge this Celtics team and they are going to get up for this game against the champs and show that the trade they made has them on the right track to improving even more.
