VCU is coming into this game with a 28-6 record this season and they were 15-3 in their conference. They have been playing very well recently as they have won their last 3 straight as well as 12 of their last 13 games. They were 10-3 in their non-conference games this season, but they did not have a very strong schedule and have not been tested much. They only played 2 games against power conference teams this season and both of those were wins, but they also beat the 2 worst teams in the ACC in Miami and Boston College. They did beat Colorado State as well, but they lost to New Mexico and to Seton Hall who was one of the worst Big East teams. They are going up against a BYU team that is 24-9 this season and they were 14-6 in their conference. They played in a much tougher Big 12 Conference and finished with the 3rd best record. They have also been very hot recently as they have won 9 of their last 10 games with their only loss coming against Houston who was the best team in the Big 12 and is a number 1 seed in this tournament. They had quality wins against Iowa State, Arizona, and Kansas in that span and they have the advantage here since they are used to the altitude they will be playing in. BYU has also been the much better shooting team all season and have one of the better shooting percentages from beyond the arc. BYU will cover the spread in this game.
