UC San Diego is coming into this game with a 30-4 record this season and they were 18-2 in their conference. They have been one of the hotter teams in the country recently as they have won their last 15 straight games. They were also very good in their non-conference schedule, but they have not played a single power conference opponent this season and have not been tested that much at all. They are going up against a Michigan team that is 25-9 this season and they were 14-6 in their conference. They have been very good all season and did choke away the Big 10 regular season in the final weeks, but they bounced back by winning the Big 10 Tournament and have won their last 3 straight games now. They were 8-3 in their non-conference schedule and were tested by quite a few quality teams. Michigan has played in a lot of close games over the season and when they win games, they have not been by large margins. Their schedule was also riddled with power conference teams though so they have been tested quite a bit. They only played 5 games against non-power conference teams this season, but they won all 5 of those games by 10+ points in complete routs and did not even give up 60 points in 3 of those. UC San Diego has been great this season, but they have not been tested by any quality opponents all year and they also have a much smaller team so Michigan's size is going to be a big problem for them with those two 7 footers. Michigan is going to have a big advantage at the rim with their rebounding and that is going to be the difference in this game. Michigan will cover the spread in this game.
