Kentucky is coming into this game with a 24-11 record this season and they were 10-8 in their conference. They have not been a dominant team in the SEC all season, but recently they have been playing much better as they have won their last 2 straight as well as 5 of their last 6 games. Their only loss in that span was to Alabama in the SEC Tournament, but Alabama is a team they have not matched up well against this season, losing all 3 meetings. Kentucky has been great in this tournament though, beating Troy 76-57 in a game they dominated from start to finish and now coming off of an 84-75 win against Illinois in another game they dominated from start to finish. They are going up against a Tennessee team that is 29-7 this season and they were 12-6 in their conference. They have been highly regarded all season and have been ranked in the top 10 for most of the year, but they were not even a top 3 team in their own conference and have been overrated all year. They do have one of the better defenses in the country, but they do not have a good offense as they have struggled to shoot the ball at times. They have been dominant in this tournament so far, but they have not faced many quality opponents as they beat Wofford 77-62 in the 1st round and beat UCLA 67-58 in their last game. Tennessee was one of the better teams in the SEC, but they did struggle in a lot of their big games this season. They have also struggled a lot against Kentucky as they lost both meetings to them, losing at home 78-73 and on the road 75-64, so this is a good matchup for Kentucky against a team they know how to beat. Tennessee has been the much better defensive team all season, but Kentucky can win this game with their much better shooting and rebounding. Kentucky will cover the spread in this game.
