AMEDEUS' MLB DIAMOND DINGER!
(MLB) Pirates (PIT) vs. Marlins (MIA),
Total: 8.00 | -115.00 Over
Result: Loss
The Pirates are coming into this game with a 0-1 record this season as they are coming off of a 5-4 loss to the Marlins on opening day, and they are going to be hungry to bounce back here after blowing a 4-1 lead in that game. Mitch Keller is starting for them in this game and he has been pitching well in Spring Training as he went 1-1 in his 5 starts, allowing 4 earned runs in 15 innings pitched. He is coming off of a very good season as well, but that has not been the norm for him in recent years and he started to go back to his old ways near the end of last season. Keller has allowed at least 4 earned runs in his 1st start of the year the last 3 straight seasons, and he was in this same situation last year as he allowed 5 runs, 4 earned, in a little under 6 innings pitched in Miami, his only game against the Marlins last season. They are going up against a Marlins team that is 1-0 to start the season after that comeback 5-4 win on Thursday, but now they are going to have an inexperienced starter in Connor Gillispie. He has been okay in Spring Training as he went 0-1 in his 3 starts, allowing 7 earned runs in 16.1 innings, but this is only his 2nd season in the MLB and he only had 3 appearances in his 1st season last year. He did not start in any of his 3 appearances last season either so this is not going to be a routine game for him, getting his 1st ever start in an MLB game. Keller is going to give up runs in this game, but the Pirates are also going to fight hard to bounce back here. Between these two sides, there will be enough runs in this game to push it over the total.
